Statistical analyses included the Chi-square test, student t-test, Pearson¡¯s correlation test and hierarchical regression.
Results : Suicidal ideation among the elderly participants showed a prevalence of 17.3%. Income (r=-0.212), social support (r=-0.277), and quality of life (r=-0.328) showed a negative correlation with suicidal ideation ; whereas, physical illness (r=0.219), death anxiety (r=0.222) and loneliness (r=0.496) showed a positive correlation with suicidal ideation (p<0.01). Social support, quality of life, and loneliness were significant influencing factors ; and loneliness was the most significant predictor (¥â=6.701).
